350 years of building history

Alfred Groves & Sons Limited is a traditional building contractor based in Milton-under-Wychwood in Oxfordshire committed to the use of traditional skills and construction methods. The heritage of Alfred Groves & Sons Limited can be traced back through the family to 1660. The present title of the company was established in 1904 by its then owner. Past building projects are many and various and include substantial building works throughout the Cotswolds including work for members of the Royal Household. We specialise in renovation, refurbishment, conversion, alteration and extension of period properties, many of which are listed, ranging in values up to and in excess of £2 million. The company also undertakes new build using traditional and contemporary methods of construction. We normally carry out works within a radius of 40miles from our offices. The current family owners take pride in the company's unique contribution to the architectural heritage of the Cotswold regions. The site at Milton-under-Wychwood also incorporates Groves Business Centre consisting of several buildings leased for various commercial operations.



Alfred Groves & Sons Ltd had the pleasure of a visit from the Prime Minister and local MP the Rt Hon David Cameron on the afternoon of the 8th of April 2016.

Welcomed by Robert Parsons (Chairman) & Russell Hawtin (Managing Director) Mr Cameron was then shown around the Joinery Department meeting members of staff including Joinery Manager Nigel Hitchcox discussing various projects currently being undertaken. This was then followed by a brief walk through the premises discussing company business and Groves long history, concluding the visit at our DIY Shop which is celebrating its one year anniversary of the reopening where he was introduced to Shop Manager Leanne Hill, Directors Sam Parsons and Holly McGee together with other members of Staff.
