Our Yard, located in the heart of Oxfordshire, Milton-Under-Wychwood is home to a collection of artisan businesses, workshop spaces and offices. With the summer holidays approaching fast, we have compiled a list of 4 family-friendly activities you can do at The Yard this summer!

Lesley-Anne Doole Gallery

Lesley has just opened her new gallery in the upstairs of The Elms! Lesley-Anne spends her time between Spain and the UK and has always enjoyed painting realistic portraits of both people and animals.

She has sold her paintings to people all over the world and has had exhibitions in London, Spain, Turkey, Belgium and Africa! We are so excited to show you her artwork at Alfred Groves!

Sugarboo

Get your summer sugar fix from Sugarboo! Lyanda’s cake journey began 6 years ago when creating a 3 tier cake for her daughter’s birthday. It ignited a passion in Lyanda to learn more about creative cake decorating. In 2019, she won 2 bronze awards at Cake International in the ‘Celebration Cake’ and ‘Sculpted Cake’ categories.

In 2021, her entry into the ‘Celebration Cake’ category won Gold and 1st place! In addition, she also won 2 silvers and a Merit award for her other entries.

In April of this year, Sugarboo opened its doors to its first cake studio at Alfred Groves. With an open kitchen for visitors to observe the creativity that goes into every cake. Sugarboo also offers national and local delivery! You can find Sugarboo in Unit 29A of The Yard.

Rise & Flour

While visiting Lesley’s gallery, downstairs is Rise & Flour’s cafe! With pastries and cakes galore, you are bound to find something to satisfy your sweet tooth!

Rise & Flour used to have a unit in The Yard where they sold all their sweet treats but now that the cafe is open, you are able to take a seat and enjoy the view! Handcrafted artisan bread and pastries for the whole family while visiting Alfred Groves!

They have a full menu to ensure there is something for everyone! Last orders are at 3PM so make sure to visit Rise & Flour at The Elms before then!

The Shop

Often referred to as the Aladdin’s cave, the Alfred Groves Shop bursts with around 9000 products making it a large playground for any maker who is looking to turn their hands to any size project.

We also sell craft supplies so your family can get stuck into a craft project over the summer. Whether it’s colourful raffia or rope, we have a huge range to choose from!
